From jewelry workshops to lectures, exhibitions and more, there are so many opportunities to gather and appreciate our favorite art form. Jewelry retreats and symposiums are great places to learn from your favorite instructors and recharge your creative batteries.

January 12-14, 2018 at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.
This year’s theme was Deconstruct/Reconstruct. By deconstructing the boundaries of traditional processes, perceptions of value or the idea of adornment itself, each of the artists they selected have redefined what it means to be a metalsmith. Some have literally reconstructed disparate materials to create a new whole, while others have pushed the limits of metalsmithing processes to new heights.
Baltimore Jewelry Center presents Ornamenta, an annual fundraising party. The event features a raffle and silent auction with work from many art jewelers from around the country as well as donations from awesome local businesses and restaurants.

The Yuma Symposium is a series of demonstrations, lectures and slide presentations given by both internationally recognized and emerging artists who have demonstrated unusual talent. Activities include an exhibit of work by presenters and a student show, the National Saw, File, & Solder Sprints, the annual pin auction, shopping and eating in Algodones, Mexico, and a fiesta and dance on Saturday night.

April-October 2018, Jewelry/Metals workshops in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.


Learn from renowned artists and network with other jewelry enthusiasts to explore the intersection between contemporary and traditional jewelry methods. A great blend of classes, demonstrations, artist talks and a catered panel lunch discussion – you can spend the whole weekend or just attend an individual session.

CoMA Annual Metalsmithing Conference
“Raising awareness and encouraging development of metalsmithing as an artistic and professional endeavor, through education, exhibition, and cooperation.” – CoMA
At the annual conference in July, CoMA invites nationally and internationally known artists to share their knowledge and experience. A selection of those artists will also teach workshops both before and after the conference
Third weekend in July in Salida, Colorado.
